Status
A document has been produced that describes the outline for the expert level.
A number of topics that need to be further elabored upon. A plan for this is being set up.
At the same time the market survey will again be taken up. Angelina Samaroo had agreed to drive this (unfortunately it hasn’t happened).
As pilot test process improvement will be the first module to be developed.
03-10-07
Over the last period a formal (high level) description document of the ISTQB expert level has been developed, voting upon, accepted and released. This document is now publicly available through the ISTQB web site.
Following a vote a subgroup within the working party is currently working on defining the continuous education policy. According to the plan this document will be sent for ISTQB review early januari at the latest and will be submitted for the march meeting for approval.
The expert level working party has performed a market survey, especially in those countries that are active at a second level of certification. The full report has been sent to all ISTQB board member. The results will be presented together with a proposed road map for the future at the Seoel meeting.
The group working on the “improving the testing process’ expert level module has finalized the syllabus at approximately 70%. Much focus from these members has been spent on the advanced level working party recently making progress slower than was expected. With the release of the AL working party, this syllabus now has focus again and is expected to be submitted for review and release at the march meeting.
The IP forms and working party agreements have been sent to all WP members. Those members who have returned their signed forms have been indicated with a √. Currently only 2 out of 13 members have returned their form.
09-03-08
Following the ISTQB vote a subgroup within the working party has developed a continuous education policy. The document has been reviewed internally. It is expected that the draft document will be sent out for review end of march 2008.
In addition progress has been made on the first expert level module “Improving the testing process”. A detailed plan and schedule for release has been defined and will be presented at the March meeting.
The expert level working party hopes that at the March meeting agreement can be reached on two more expert level modules to be developed. If not, no real progress can be achieved with the expert level.
The IP forms and working party agreements have been sent to all WP members. Those members who have returned their signed forms have been indicated with a √. Currently only 7 out of 14 members have returned their form.
