Agile Test Leadership at Scale
The ATLaS certification is aimed at professionals working in an organization that is pursuing business agility at scale and already has a basic understanding of agile and testing in an agile environment. This includes both people in testing roles as well as people in other roles throughout the organization who are responsible for quality, i.e., members of agile teams, leaders of agile team(s), project managers, scrum masters, etc.

Many organizations are adopting business agility practices as a way of working. Whilst the demand is for faster delivery, the quality of the product is equally as important and is everyone’s responsibility. This means that their employees may need to learn new competencies and skills, particularly where they are scaling. This qualification provides those steps as part of their career growth for leaders.

Quality Assistance can be implemented differently within organizations based for example, on current skill levels, the size of scaling, and the current maturity level, therefore there could be a number of competencies needed. For this certification, we have selected the four which will be examinable, but it is important to realize that there could be others.

As described in Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) v4.0 – DevOps is an organizational approach aiming to create synergy by getting development (including testing) and operations to work together to achieve a set of common goals. In ATLaS v2.0 DevOps is also relevant because it impacts the organizational test strategy.
In ATLaS, we focus on test leaders at an organizational level. An agile test leader or agile test team leader needs to organize test activities in different manners depending on the type of activities and the complexity of the solution and organization. How a team is organized impacts what testing activities are effective and how the team collaborates with other teams.
The term test strategy has been changed to make the scope of the strategy clear. A new term was added for project test strategy.
One way is to work with a group of peers to practice the skills and to get feedback.
You can remain certified in ATLaS v1.0 MVP. However, you are not automatically certified in ATLaS v2.0. You will need to either upgrade or take the new exam with 40 questions.
