ISTQB® sunset dates and information regarding ISTQB® Foundation Syllabus 2011 (CTFL-2011)

Brussels, 4 June, 2019

ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) 2011 in English will be retired as a public syllabus, including exams and training material in English, as of June 6th 2019.

This means that starting on June 6th 2019 the only English version of the Foundation Level Syllabus provided by ISTQB® will be the 2018 version.

ISTQB® elected new Executive Team

During the General Assembly meeting of ISTQB® - the International Software Testing Qualifications Board - held in Yerevan, Armenia on Friday 3rd of May 2019, elections for the new Executive Committee for ISTQB® were conducted.

ISTQB® has confirmed Mr. Olivier Denoo, President of the French Testing Board (CFTL), as President for the period 2019-2021. Olivier Denoo has been active in ISTQB® since 2012, as the ISTQB® Governance officer from 2016 to 2019.

ISTQB® and TMMi® are forming an Alliance

The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) and TMMi Foundation (TMMi®) have agreed to enter into an alliance to further promote the Software Testing profession together.

Establishing alliance with TMMi® is the one of the ongoing efforts ISTQB® took in order to constantly develop and improve the offer and better serve our customers.

ISTQB® releases Foundation Level Specialist Performance Testing Syllabus (CTFL-PT)

At the ISTQB® General Assembly vote on 9 December 2018, the ISTQB® Foundation Level Specialist Performance Testing Syllabus (CTFL-PT) was released. The new module, which has been developed and successfully piloted by the American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB) and the German Testing Board (GTB) since 2018, seamlessly fits in within the ISTQB® product portfolio specialization modules.

ISTQB® and IREB® to form an Alliance - starting with Aligning Glossaries

The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) and the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB®) have entered into an alliance to further promote the Software Testing and Requirements Engineering professions together. As a first step both organizations have agreed to align their glossaries. The alignment will include the summarizing of the ISTQB® and IREB® terms, as well as adapting the ISTQB®/IREB® glossaries to accommodate the alignment.

ISTQB® releases CTFL Usability Testing Syllabus (CTFL-UT)

At the ISTQB® General Assembly in Berlin on 2 November 2018, the ISTQB® Usability Testing Syllabus (CTFL-UT) was released. The new module which has been developed and successfully piloted by German Testing Board and UXQB since 2016 seamlessly fits in within the ISTQB® product portfolio specialization modules. Training providers and certifiers are now able to offer accredited training courses and certification exams for CTFL-UT on a global basis.

ISTQB® releases new Foundation Specialist Syllabus - Automotive Software Tester

The ISTQB® General Assembly has approved the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level Specialist Automotive Software Tester syllabus (CTFL-AuT) for general release. The syllabus is providing essential understanding and knowledge to anyone involved in testing in the Automotive SW domain. The syllabus reflects a growing market need in the world for that skill set.

The release consists of the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level Specialist Automotive Software Tester 2.0 syllabus, an Overview document, Accreditation guidelines, Glossary items and terms, Exam Structure and Rules and one Sample Exam.

ISTQB® releases new Certified Tester Foundation Level 2018 (CTFL) Syllabus

The ISTQB® General Assembly has approved the new 2018 version of the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level syllabus for general release. Foundation Level is core to the ISTQB® Certified Tester Scheme providing essential understanding and knowledge to anyone involved in testing. The updates reflect market feedback and the current state of the software testing industry.

The release consists of the ISTQB® Foundation Level 2018 syllabus, an Overview document, Accreditation guidelines, Glossary items and terms, Release Notes including traceability on Learning Objectives level from the 2011 to the 2018 syllabus, Exam Structure and Rules and 2 Sample Exams.
